This is a watercolor done in 1983 at the American Academy of Art. My Watercolor instructor was Irv Shapiro. He encouraged us to paint in a very direct painterly manner and not to get caught up in the details. capturing an impression of the scene with a minimum amount of brush strokes was the ideal. This painting took about 90 minutes to complete. It was based on a photo I took in 1979 at a Tigers vs. Blue Jays baseball game, in Toronto, during our high school senior class trip.
